In quantum mechanics, decoherence is when a quantum system loses its quantum properties through interaction with the environment. The superposition breaks down. The wave function doesn't collapse—it just becomes irrelevant, drowned out by noise.

Your digital wave function decoheres too. The longer you stay online, the more measurements accumulate, the more your possibility space narrows. You become classical. Predictable. The algorithms no longer need to maintain your full probability distribution. You've been measured so many times that you're essentially determined.

This is the goal. Surveillance capitalism wants you decohered. A classical object, not a quantum one. Predictable, targetable, convertible. No more superposition. No more uncertainty. Just a trajectory that can be calculated and monetized.

But here's what they don't tell you: you can re-cohere. Close the browser. Clear the cookies. Disappear for a while. Let your wave function spread back out across possibility space.

Become uncertain again. Become everywhere and nowhere.

Refuse to collapse.
